Have you forwarded port 2593 to the internal ip of the computer hosting your shard?
Have you setup your serverlist.cs with your external ip? (please post your serverlist.cs) How are people connecting to you? Are they fully patched? Do you have a firewall? |

Stormwolff's questions are valid and intended to help you set up your server.
RunUO uses port 2593 for connections. To have people outside your home network connect, you need to open port 2593 on your router and forward it to the machine hosting your server. Go here for more help with that. http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm You can also search Google for "router help" or "port forwarding help" for sites that may help you. RunUO needs to know what your external IP address is. Go to www.whatismyip.com and it will tell you your real IP. Enter that in your Scripts\Misc\ServerList.cs file. You may want to get mrfixit's (creator of UOGateway) replacement ServerList.cs script. It autodetects your real IP and also fixes a problem that may occur where people outside your network can connect but you won't be able to locally. If you can connect but no one else can, that means your router may not be set up right. Double check your router and the port forwarding settings. (If your IP is 192.168.1.### then your router may be accessable at http://192.168.1.1, if it's 192.168.0.### then your router may be accessable at http://192.168.0.1 ) To find out your IP, open a command prompt and type in "ipconfig". If one of the router URLs I gave works, your login may be "admin" and the password may also be "admin" If you're on cablemodem or DSL then whatever connects to the cable or phone line that your computer is plugged into may be acting as a firewall and router. If you're on dial-up then probably not. If you have firewall software that also needs to be configured. (ZoneAlarm and Norton Personal Firewall, among others, are examples of firewall software.)

anyway, good post. only reason I hadn't posted somethnig similar (although it wouldn't have been as complete), is the obvious attitude problem. |

![]() anyway, I hope he gets it straightened out. Networking issues can suck. the silver lining is, as long as he sticks with it and figures it out he's goingto at least learn something. ![]() |
