Default Trying to Make a New World

I forget what post it was, but I recently read about someone interested in editing his world files (maps and terrain and such). I've read a couple in the past too. So I decided to try my hand at it. I've been playing with all sorts of tools I've never touched in the past like Pandora's Box, some program called Custom World Forge, Dragon, and one other, I forget (I uninstalled it).

I'm just wondering, of the ones I listed, are any of these actually used for editing world files? I had the day off work yesturday so I figured it was a good time to put towards learning how to make my own map. I got the day off today also, so I guess I'm going to do the same with today as I did yesturday -> hopefully I'll get better results at the end of the day, hehe.

*Added* I did some looking up and found some information on UO Architect. I think I'll give that a whirl too.

www.ryandor.com is a fantastic resource for editing maps. I'd give you some tips myself, but that website says everything better than I could. Well worth a look.

Alright cool, thanks. At least I know I'm on the right track.

I would have to say that Dragon has the best transitions to me anyways. and ryandor.com would be the best site for it, you can get tons of tutorials on there along with programs.
