Maybe I can help some. It may help others later on as well.
When you goto No-IP the very first thing you should do (if you have finaly decided to use it) is create a new account. You can do this by going to the homepage and choosing the No-IP Free banner off to the right then Sign Up Now. After you have signed up, you will be sent a confermation email while you are directed to the Downloads section, where you will choose your operating system and get the program you need to make No-IP work. Once you have downloaded the software and confermed the email, go back to the home page and log in. Now Add a Host *Note - When you make a host, everything will probably be default. You're looking for DNSHost (A). The IP addy is automatic if you have the program running. Leave it as it is. Change Nothing. Create the host and within a few minutes, it should update to your proggie. Remember, you're going to have to change your SERVERLIST.CS and UOGateway settings to the hostname you chose. The default setting would have looked like (yourhostname.no-ip.info) instead of an ip number. Once UOGateway updates, usually 30 minutes tops, players should be able to log in to your server... if everything else is in order. |

I did answer his question...I pointed him to the place where he could learn all that he needed to know about NoIP. If he can't figure out the directions from their FAQ and support pages, maybe he shouldn't be using it.
I would, however, like to know if he got it working or not.

heh after you create a no-ip account instead of using one of their clients to update your Ip address to their site, check in the Script Submission forums. I wrote a script for Updating IP address to No-IP OR DynDNS, just thought I'd share my 2 cents.

Oh sorry. Didnt read that correctly. You made a script that bypassed the need of their software.
Very cool idea. I'll use it as well. Every lil bit of resource not being tapped into helps. |
