heh Hallo everyone, My real name is Jacob. I'm a modder mainly focused on the Half-Life Series since it's so bloody easy to mod although not easy enough to make maps in like 5 minutes...unless you want a really crap one =)

My site is located here! (you mods/admins can remove the link if you want I just wanted to show some of my work....and maybe actually update the site...)

My only released map is for Counter-Strike: Source and it's called fy_smilitias (fy = fight yard, Smilitias = Small Militia since it's partially based off of the Official map cs_militia)

Now I'm very interested in getting back into UO (played it a lot when I was a kid. I must say it's the BEST mmo I've ever played!

So yeah you peeps may call me Frostbite (old gamer tag although I still use it...) or FrostedBitesCereal, or if you really want to Jacob/Jake.

edit: btw what's the maxium size for image sigs? Would this be to big?

edit2: btw it seems I accidently picked about 10 years ahead my actual birthyear....it's 1991 so ya please fix it.

As one former player that is returning, to another, it's a pleasure to say Welcome back, Frostbite!

I was about to say that its always great to see somebody that loves this game, come back to it. But then I thought about how addicting this game is. But yeah, its always good to see somebody come back to this game that we all love (and hate lol) so much.
You'll find most of the guys and gals really helpful around here, if you need anything.

Thats really cool that you are into the map-making. Its always cool to see somebody with skills

Something that you might (or might not) find interesting is working with the graphics/art, and making plugins that will work with the new UO clients. I know that art for custom mounts is in high demand, as is stuff like animations for wings, and stuff like that.
And if you are really into doing the art kinda stuff, you might check out a game called Morrowind. The ability to expand and customize that game are just ENDLESS!
But that's OT, so I guess that would be something to talk about in PMs if your interested.

Anyways, welcome back!

hehe, I own Oblivion but sadly not Morrowind. I'm planning on getting a mod that adds most of Morrowind to Oblivion but until then UO time =)
And hmm animation work eh? I can do that..

The presently known sig limit is 100x500 for an image alone, and 150 in height if you have text as well. But Id say as long as the image isnt extremely obnoxious then you can prolly slide by those extra 25 pixels.
(this info is in a sticky in the Starbucks forum; it should prolly be in the rules if its site-wise..hrm..)

I cant say as I've played any of the Oblivion yet. I've had Elder Scrolls for about two years now. I pull it out when I'm really bored sometimes. surprisingly enough, the scripts for it are very similar to the ones for runuo.
Does Oblivion come with the TESc? If so, you'd prolly enjoy that. making houses in there, is a lot like making maps. just smaller scale, I guess, lol.
tho you can make custom landmasses and dungeons in there too.

If you think you can do it, you might go ahead and take a stab at some of the artwork. just do a search for art and you'll turn up several threads with tools and stuff to use.
I took a stab at it, back before the verdata files got nixed. tho, I do have to say that I wasnt able to do anything for the avatar. mostly just ideas for clothes and on-doll weapons.
same with some of the stuff that I came up with morrowind. I just couldnt use the programs that were needed to make the mesh files. or add them to the mesh files. half because I didnt know how to work them, and half because the really good ones didnt support my win 98se, lol

Oblivion doesn't come with the Construction Kit but it's a free download off of Bethesda's Oblivion Site, and thanks I think i'll do that...a little later =)
