Hey, I'm new here...
I have experience with creating Mu Online,RF Online and Lineage 2 Emu private servers, but I'm totally new to UO and especially to RunUO. I hope you guys could help me out a bit if I don't understand smth. ![]() (I use the "Runuo Ultimate Little Guide") I've installed MS .NET Framework v2.0... Downloaded RunUO-2.0-RC1 (I guess it's the server) Then runed the .exe file ..all loaded perfectly, then created an Admin account... ...now..where do I need to change my IP address (on what line?) ? I use No-IP. |

When you're in the game use the [admin command. I'm sure you can figure it out from there. Very self explanitory.
Oh! and by default, I believe the server is auto account creating. The first time a person logs in the server will create them an account using the username and login that they logged in with. |

well.. I kinda cheated (so I could make a non-admin acc) and closed my internet connection (I have a broadband connection)..and then started it again -> my IP changed and I was able to create an account, BUT now when I start the game from UOGateway it says that server has been taken down. I guess I need to change the IP addresss in the UOG.
The problem: I don't want to edit my UOG every time I make a restart on my PC 'cuz the IP changes. Can I put my DSN name somewhere into the ServerList.cs file so the server would connect with it ? |

If you're setting up a local connection to connect to the server running on the same PC, use the IP address 127.0.0.1
Also, if you're using MrFixit's serverlist.cs file. you don't need to make any changes to it except for, and this is optional, adding your server name. Last edited by jhs59; 12-06-2006 at 08:13 PM. |

What about the original RunUO ServerList.cs ?
I put my DSN name here: * If you need to resolve a DNS host name, you can do that too: * private const string Address = "shard.host.com"; */ public static readonly string Address = j2games.servegame.com; public const string ServerName = "RunUO TC"; public static void Initialize() { Listener.Port = 2593; but when I run the .exe it says: Errors: +Misc/ServerList.cs: CS0103: Line 23: The name 'j2games' does not exist in the current context. EDIT: omfg... I forgot to put my DNS name between " " .... guess I'm too sleepy -_- well, thanks again for the help guys ! Last edited by zen21; 12-06-2006 at 07:49 PM. |

I have a shard running with MrFixit's serverlist.cs right now. I made absolutely no changes to it. It is exactly how it was when I downloaded it. It allows people to connect to my shard from the internet using my DynamicDNS name *****.homeip.net as well as local connections from the same PC using the loopback address of 127.0.0.1.
Why go through all the complication of changing around all these settings when it works out of the box with MrFixit's serverlist.cs? If you want to use the RunUO serverlist.cs then, yes, you need to put in your DNS name to allow for connections from the internet. Last edited by jhs59; 12-06-2006 at 08:19 PM. |

True, but like I said, if you make no modifications to the MrFixit's, except for shard name if you like, it will work fine. If he left it alone and not tried to enter his DynDNS name/IP address into it, it would work like a charm with no extra editing needed. |
