Ok, once done with the first problems regardin connection and starting the local server, i need to know another few things. I've been out of the ultima on line world for a long time (1 year, maybe more) and the last time i played only AoS was out so i'm totally new to SE and ML, i tried a few things and i've to say that elven stuff is cool but i noticed some new things. The marker that appears when double clicking a mobile npc or monster, for example. The problems are:
-every monster I spawn using the [add command as an admin are grey-named and wont attack my non-staff pc even if i attack them. it's because of the young thing? -why when i walk through a moongate my pc becomes all grey? |

Both of those issues are pretty standard for Staff Access (Admin, Seer, GM, and whatever that last rank is) characters. I've noticed that only NPCs over a certain fame/karma level (dont know for sure what the level is, but it it really high.) will try to actively attack a staff member, unless they are angered.
By angered, I mean such as a white wyrm when a tamer tries to tame it and makes it angry. this is just the way that it's been, ever since I've been playing staff, on a runuo shard. the same goes for staying hidden after leaving a public moongate. I'd definitely do a search in the submissions section for [i[hider[/i] or macro the [hide [unhide commands. Again, I'm not sure why they stay hidden after going thru a public moongate. I dunno if its supposed to be to help us sneak around on stuff such as spawning, quests, or watching player behavior, or what. But again, its been like that for as long as I've played on runuo shards as staff. which was the beta 36 client, and the 1.0 RC0 shards. |

thanks everyone again, but this happends even with a non-staff pc(with the difference that i can attack this time but they won't attack back even if struck they just run away), plus the monsters are still grey and townguards don't kill them!
EDIT: ooops, i solved the problem again, lol it seems in the end it was a staff pc :S, do you know what will be a nice saving time for a shard, i found the standard saving interval not good enough, i mean the interval's too short. Last edited by Faelar; 12-15-2006 at 01:30 PM. |

LOL yeah, the guards dont come to help the staff either. I guess, they figure we can handle things a lot easier than they can, haha.
As for saving intervals, a lot of it depends on how much traffic your shard has. If you have a lot of heavy traffic, short intervals is bad, because the save times will take longer for it to record all the info. if its just a private server, that you and just your family play on, like mine; I have mine set for 35 minutes. otherwise low, and medium traffic (say: 10-15 users) 45 minutes is usually good. Heavy traffic, (16+ users) usually about 90 minutes between saves as a minimum. |
