How does one get in and add/edit image files for UO? I want to add in some new art, maybe replace some old art, and just generally tinker about with adding and removing art from the game.
I notice that most of the art seems to be tied up in a single file, and that could be problematic. So, how does one do this thing? |

Ok, I've done a little research and discovered that Muleditor, for example, can be used to add images, and one can edit the .mul files with it. (Hence the name).
The question I have now is, is there a limited amount of graphic space available, if not, how do I access/create extra space for new image data. I'd really appreciate any help here. Thank you. |

There is a limited number of ID numbers available for each type of graphic (art, gumps, animations, etc).
I don't have access to the ranges from here, but in mulpatcher I know that the art item IDs (art.mul) don't go much farther than the last one that is actually in the file. In Mulpatcher you can choose to select blank spots only so that you can see where there are empty slots within the acceptable range of ID #s. |
