Default Client Error

Im recently coming back to ultima online, but im having problems. I do not have my CD with me so i downloaded ML from uo's website. I patched, however i stopped at 6.0.4.0 which is odd i believed we were at 6.0.7.0. I am running vista so i run into some problems. I have to use razor to log on it appears as though my encryption is not readable for shards that i find on UOGateway. Most shards work, however the ones that do once i log on i client like its my job. I cant see anything in my pack or any container for that matter. Any advise would be helpful.

UOGateway has not been updated in a long time. It stopped working somewhere around client 5.0.6. You should use ConnectUO or Razor alone to connect to shards these days. The UO Gateway shard list is also out of date due to the main server being down which lead to the inability for shard owners to log in or add servers.

RunUO 1.0 and RunUO 2.0 Rc1 based servers are also limited to clients under 6.0.1.7 due to recent client updates. Maps were changed in 6.0.0 and the login process and a few other things like container setup were changed in 6.0.1.7.

Your best bet is to try client 5.0.9.1 by reinstalling UO and stopping the patching process before 6.0.0 is downloaded.

Some shards have upgraded to RunUO 2.0 SVN which in recent updates added fixes for newer clients to login. Once you find a shard to play on they should be able to tell you if the newer version is supported.

Thanks for the input. I'm not too worried about the newest patch being installed, because to be honest i believe UO has been slowly sliding down the slope. Everytime i see what UO's next big idea is i find myself putting my hands on my hips and shaking my head
