Pandora is running, cannot access it

Heya,

I've moved the server to a new machine. Server works fine, everything else works fine.
No viruses and what not, triple checked.
I'm running XP.
I have the correct version of pandora.
I'm running 2.0 (didn't have any probs before)
Yes I have the correct dot net fw.
Yes I've tried reinstalling everything, including uo (and made sure there were no leftovers before I reinstalled)
YES I looked around the forums for answers!

OK. So, I've found one topic on this though there wasn't anything helpful in it. Basically, pandora is installing and loading up with no errors though once it minimises it disappears. Alt tab does not work. Pandora.exe shows up in the processes but not in the application window (ctrl alt del). I set the pandora application to always show on my toolbar. I've been at this for a couple of hours and frankly I have no more ideas.

Anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

I haven't had something like that myself. But see if you have a "Log.txt" file under
C:\Documentc and Settings\<your username>\Application Data\Pandora's Box 2
and post its contents.

Sounds like either Beta 6 or 7. Both have caused pretty much that same problem. Check the posts in Utility Support/3rd party programs. There are several posts in there concerning both Beta 6 & 7 for Pandoras Box.

Oops, sorry, missed that when I replied to your second post.

Anyway, the reason I asked is as follows:
Your error says that PB failed to load the radarcol.mul, which is the first file it tries to load from the UO folder. To get the path to that, it looks at the registry, checks for the standard registry key that is added on install of UO and takes the path to the UO executable ('client.exe') from there.

Now, what made me jump to the conclusion that you probably used Vista is the fact the UO registry key is at a different position than under XP. PB doesn't find it under Vista, ergo no radarcol.mul, ergo the error in your log file.

Another possible reason though is that you simply don't have a registry key for UO or have a wrong folder listed there (as in, you moved your UO folder somewhere else or reinstalled windows and just copied the folder back from a backup). Another one would be a WinXP x64, which also uses a slightly different path in the registry.

Solution to those possibilities can be found in the very first stickied thread in the Razor subforum ("fix for client not found"). Try that, it *might* help. If it doesn't, please post again.
