download uo - RunUO

first things first... i have not playing uo for a few years, an i quit osi shards YEARS ago when i discover'd uog, turns out thats down at the moment, so i found this place ... my question is i need to download uo to get me started all together... basically i have a new comp and an internet and thats it... please help me out

just verifying.... i went to filefront and its downloading as im typing... what is GamesMirrors and .NET 1.1 Framework ???

.NET framework is needed to run Razor. Razor is a UO assist program made by RunUO that you can use to connect to servers. You must have .NET Framework for it to work.

The GamesMirrors is an optional mirror, but filefront is fine.

no besides what's been said. Razor, A copy of UO, and an Internet connection. Now keep in mind some servers will need a certain version of the game client so make sure you have it updated to whatever that server asks for in order to play.

Although the KR client won't work with RunUO, the 2d client version is considerably newer than the Mondain's Legacy download.

ran into a bit of a prob... i clicked on runuo to get started this is what it gives me:

what the heck does that mean?

Go spend 20 bucks on a disc.

I am serious there is no excuse to not buy the disc when the game is one of the cheapest on the market. You can probably order it used for only a few bucks on amazon or ebay or something.

So spend the money to get a real disc.

So you want to make your own shard or just play on an free shard?
You don't need RunUO to play on a shard ...

i can just delete everything and reinstall uo and guide me from there, i dont want osi shards, ive had my fair share in the past... too much money spent every month for 5 years (i cant count that high, lol)...

so lets start with: I just installed uo, now How do i get the free shards

You don't need to "get" the free shards. All you need to do is find the shard you like, check out how that shard handles accounts (a lot offer automatic account creation on first login). Then you use razor to log-on to that shard.
So look at the various free shards around and pick which ever interests you. The login information should be easy to find on their website.
