I tried both Beta 10 and 9. It just crashes right away. Tried it without running Config.exe first, tried it after running Config.exe. Crashes right away both ways.
P.S. It does not give a meaningful error message. It doesn't even give a meaningful error message if hit the Cancel ("click CANCEL to debug it") button. In fact, it just gives another error message if I do that. (It seems my forum account apparently never got deleted, although all posts I had ever made WERE deleted when I attempted to delete my account. Well!) P.P.S. I have .net 1.1 installed, and directX 9.0b. |

He already did ;-> I think mistb may be correct: Shadowlord needs to install the DirectX Managed Library AS WELL.

Googling for 'DirectX Managed Library' (without quotes) does not find any downloads which are separate from DirectX 9.0b.
And to make doubly sure it was installed, I did dxdiag and checked the version number. DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0b (4.09.0000.0902) |

Ok firstly not a dumb question
I wondered the same myself. I unzipped to a fat32 partition I have on my HDD, into the root directory. However, if unzipped with folder names, to my knowledge, it doesn't really have to be any specified place. If you're still crashing, only thing I can think of is a directX problem, maybe try reinstalling that. I use the redistributable version of directX, and 2 ppl I know who have used the web setup have had probs so I dunno if that makes a diff. |
