I recently formatted, before I did so I was able to run play UO following the steps in the guide, except I wasn't sure where to extract the files for direct x 9c, and I'm using a newer video card driver. I get an error, whenever i try to open the client that looks like this: "application has generated an exception that could not be handled, process id=0x2ec (748, thread id=0x198 (408)"
I try to click cancel to debug the application, but get another error: Registered JIT debugger is not available. An Attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2). Please check computer settings. cordbg.exe !a 0x2ec Click retry or cancel |

Usually when you install new video card drivers if you don't have DX9 installed it will install it for you. Maybe you need to install the Managed DX libary. When you download and run the DirectX 9b Managed Libraries install it seems like nothing happens, but it really installs the files.

you need the directx 9.0c redistributable AND the directx 9.0b managed libraries or playuo won't work...
the stickied thread explains it, you don't have to extract the files anywhere, just run them from the download. i just download it, run it, it does it's thing, and that's all she's wrote, i've never had an issue w/ it. |
