sound issues - RunUO

so i've tried the . sound off and the only thing i can't hear is footsteps.. everything else is still louder then crap. i also tried the volume control but that was unrecognized. any one have any ideas as to why it wont actually shut off the sound? thanks

footsteps aren't in anymore, and i don't know if you can control volume
