Default Crashing Problem D3D GFX Card/Driver Info Included

I sometimes crash after 30mins-hour and 30 mins, a little unsure why. I just crashed when I recalled to my house. I recieve the error msg:

System.ApplicationException: Unable to create Direct3D device. ---> Error in the application.

Though its not on startup I guess I'll follow the troubleshoot and post my gfx card/drivers:

Name: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700 Series
Chip Type: AIT MOBILITY RADEON 9700 AGP ~ 120MB

Main Driver ati2dvag.dll
Version 6.14.0010.6706
Date 6/26/2007

Should I just try downloading newer drivers and hope the problem is fixed? Also note, driver updates are kind of a pain since mobility cards (at least mine) is touchy and may just restart to a black screen apon change if I dont snuggle with it.

Alright I got a new error which I believe to be closer to the source of the problem (I thinkt he D3D crash was a result of this since this is showing up every time now). Error Details Below.

It says insufficient system resources..... does that mean i'm just running to many things or is it because I need to change some properties of the client?

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800705AA): Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800705AA)

Just to update my problem. It seems the bug occured more frequently in the duel arena with multiple people (Every 4-10mins). I have doubts if its tied into my hardware rather then a software problem since 3.2ghz/1gig ram/128gfx card should be able to run uo with no problems :P.

You'd think so, but PlayUO is a jerk.

If its a hardware issue then is there something I can tweak so that playuo doesnt demand as much power? I have graphics/shadows etc off in the options, is there anything else I should try?

PlayUO uses a shit ton of memory, thats probably your problem. I put all the settings on low, enabled lockstep, disabled shadows and not even a min or so after I logged in I was at 110 megs of memory usage.

I generally log out after an hour or two of PvP at nearly 400MB. While I don't know how much of this memory comes from graphics processing, I'd suggest updating your video card.

I don't think graphics processing uses much system memory, thats why graphics cards have there own on board memory. All the memory PlayUO is using is most likely from keeping all the textures loaded in memory for fast access.

I think the OPs problem is PlayUO is trying recreate the the device for some reason but there just isn't enough memory left to do it, not to mention hes using a somewhat old, integrated graphics device.

Is there a way so that it doesnt keep as many textures in memory and just doesnt run as smoothly?

I was referring to the cache that causes the 'memory leak'.
