Unable to connect to master server (i know its down)

My friend downloaded sallos and was able to to connect to the server but couldnt make an account so i deleted the program. Now he wants to try again but whenever he runs it it says "unable to connect to master server". I know that the sallos servers go down, but his says this when i can log in, meaning that it isnt the server being down but rather some other problem. We checked his firewall settings and made sure all the required programs are installed. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
