Question Linux Support?

Hi there! Well I'm a Linux User (currently using Fedora Core ). After a little playing, I'managed to run Ultima Online 2D. And immidiatly after that It came the next question: How to run Razor? For me it is un-imagenable to play witout Razor (I'm using it since its first release). I installed it trough WINE and all seemed fine until I try to run it...
It gives an error...So my question is: Is there any way to run it, or is there any chance of Razor for LinuX?

Sure:

Make a working .Net 1.1 Framework for Linux or wait for Mono to work.

Until then, Razor, KUOC and RunUO are Windows only.

Now...

Once Mono/.Net for Linux WORKS, they will be able to run in Linux.

Razor has about 5% chance working on Mono because how it was programmed.

Mainly because it uses windows calls and C++ to name a few.

So it would have to be redone to work on Mono and I doubt that will happen for the simple fact.

There isn't a port on Linux that is the current client, so it would be a waste of time.

I also would like to add the fact that to my knowlege I didn't think the extra stuff that KUOC was programmed in could be ported to Linux.

So the only thing I know that will work are programs built on 100$ .NET as thats the only thing Mono will understand.

Last time I looked, DirectDraw, DirectX langs were not .NET at least not in the current version ( in the future that might change ).

All depends on if well programmers use the .NET Framework as a base to build a commercial program.

As free products are not going to decide that :-)

Well ofcorce I tried to run .NET Framework but the so-called "Programers" at microsoft has designed a very stupid intalation type and WINE cannot display them

Thats because .NET Framework was not designed to work on Linux. It was designed to have the entire framework ported then compiled, ie through projects like Mono.

However due to the fact Razor was built other things other then C# the chances of Mono supporting it is slim to none.

Zippy used C++ for a good deal of the work.

The CIL is independent of the language originally used, which is why the "C" stands for "Common".

It would be the techniques used, not the language, that would be the obstacle to using it under something other than Windows.

Look, It's just not gonna happen...
All of you will have given up on UO by the time you can use .NET in Linux...
Because by then they've already released their latest expansion pack causing people to quit all over the world and new people to join (again).
I have seen the future and so will you( )
