Default Permission to host a Razor download

Zippy,

Razor is a great program for players to use, and I was wondering if it was possible for me to host a download of Razor on the website of my shard just so it is convenient for my players to get it. I understand if you do not want me to.

Thanks,

Vi'

I already know the answer.

You are not allowed to host any files on RunUO. If this changes there will be a post for what files the change applies.

Currently

Razor does not appy to any changes, it currently should only be downloaded from Razor.

I know i am going to get flamed for answering this, I can't help it.

Thanks for answering the post, but I actually thought it was Zippy's call on this.

No I'm not going to flame you. Do you want me to?

If I had seen that it had been asked before, I wouldn't have asked. I've seen the question asked about other programs, such as RunUO itself, but not about Razor in particular.

Since I got Phantom's attention with this, it isn't worth it to me to continue. I don't enjoy being intimidated and threatened by anyone.

I'll just direct my players to download the program here. Issue closed.

Your welcome for the reply, btw

All programs on this website should only be downloaded from this website. They are ALL convered by the lic you agree to.

You might not like it, but thats how it works currently. I would like to add, I am not threating anyone. I am just not going to accept people to "attack" me because I am not the person that a post is directed to.

If I can answer the post, I will answer it. I just know from experience that Razor is and will remain a file protected by the lic.

I'd prefer you not, thats how people end up thinking beta 5 is the most recent version, cause their shard doesn't update the links and stuff. You can link to the downloads section (yes I realize its broken atm)....

You no longer have to be registered with RunUO.com to download files, so I dont see why that wouldnt be acceptable to you.

Thanks

LOL, heck all I do is link to the download area and they still come to me for support. I personaly wouldn't attempt this because if you do they will most definetly come to you for support. That aside it is most definetly to the benifit of the program if all bugs and suggestions are reported directly to the source instead of second or third hand.

Oh well thats just my two cents worth.

I was about to ask this question myself because ....

... that's not currently true, or so it seems. I mentioned Razor to a friend and it asked him for a RunUO Userid/Password.

Not without reason. A friend had to register on RunUO to download Razor. I'd like permission to host it on my site as registration here should not be a pre-requisite to playing on my server.

Why create another thread when one already exists for the same reason?

In case if someone claims that they cannot find where to load the latest one (happen to me before), tell them to click on "Razor (Latest Version)". I think it's because it looks more like a header while that latest with underline looks like hyperlink, but it's not.
