From Razor Web Faq:
Can Razor be detected? Yes and No. When run by itself, Razor is undetectable by the game server. Razor mimics the client's packets, and in this way the server cannot tell whether the packets are coming from Razor or the client. HOWEVER, by observing your actions Game Masters and/or shard Administrators may suspect you are using a "3rd Party Tool." Use of Razor on shards where it is prohibited is not recommended. Future versions of UOGateway may allow servers to automatically detect or block clients that use Razor. If you launch Razor via UOGateway, or any other application, it may be possible for the server to detect Razor. I want to prevent the users on my shard only use Razor or the plain UO Client. I hate Easy UO users and their powerful and ilegal macros. How can I detect and kick other users dont use this Razor? In the login script i can see the ID of the client, but Razor dont load any ID. I think I need a loader that loads Razor and give an ID to the client. How can I do that? Can I detect it using UOGateway? How? Thank you and sorry my english ![]() |

There is no easy way to detect a 3rd party application, as well make it legal...
By legal I am refering to file scans and such which are possible. By setting up a list of defined directories where EasyUO would be installed you can scan a clients HD for the EasyUO.exe which is illegal, without the clients consent in some states/countries. If you are versed in building programs you could require a particular header in a program you make to launch the client for the user to connect to your shard. Pretty much like kirros client which is an Emulated client, but runs in the background sending a packet every so often to verify it is running. The program can also verify any services running on the client's machine such as razor/EasyUO, or even scan registry values for certain keywords. But no, there is not a setting in RunUO/UOGateway for detect EasyUO. |
