Restock Agent Freezes - RunUO

When I select Add (target) to set up the restock agent, it freezes for no reason.

I have 0.1.28 razor.

Do you have .net framework installed? (1.1, not 1.0)

What happens is my cursor just freezes in the UO screen, so I assume it's safe to say it's UO freezing and not necessarily Razor. If Razor is freezing too, I'm unable to tell because UO freezes INSTANTLY.

I can click any of the buttons in the Agent: Restock menu, but when I click ADD TARGET I get a cursor. NO MATTER WHAT I click, the second I click on something it just locks up.

I'm forced to wait about 20 seconds or so until Windows views UO as not responding, so I'm able to shut it down and boot up UO and relog.

Any idea? I've posted on the forums too, asked quite a few friends, and NOBODY has any idea of what the hell it is.

Is it possible I can have a buddy set up the restock agent for regs for example, then send the file to me and just plug it in as if it were a razor macro?

AKA - Bob creates it. Sends me the restock file. I put it in the proper folder, and it works?

Yes, but the restock data is stored in the profile.xml file and not in a seperate file. You can either replace your profile with the one you are sent (you'll loose all hotkeys and other settings!), or when you get the profile you can open them both in notepad and copy the relevant part (its clrealy labeled in plain text).

I'll look into the freezing for next version, but it doesn't seem to be very wide spread so I dunno if I'll be able to track it down...

You could try logging packets when you do this and posting the log here.

Just to update - the newest razor setting still freezes for me. I haven't been on UO lately, but when I get some free time I'll copy all of my macros down, delete the profiles, and maybe even uninstall razor + reinstall, and we'll see what happens. I'll post back here with results, though I can't guarantee it'll be anytime soon.

The problem is that the menu that pops up to ask how much of an item you want to restock gets lost behind Razor, just Alt-Tab until you bring that menu back into focus. I've had this happen to me numerous times and that fixes it every time (Zippy, somehow the focus for that window doesn't bring it to top level, that may help you some).

I alt-tabbed and saw like 5 icons. I happened to take notice that razor 1.30 did not have it's usual reddish icon, instead it looked like a regular window.

See Accessibility Options? It looked like that but without the handicapped picture in it.

Anyway, I made sure it was selected, and tried it again..... froze again.... can you elaborate a little bit more? I have a feeling I'm doing something a bit off here...

Sorry to drag this post up a bit, but I did figure something out, and hopefully it will help Zippy (possibly a way to workaround it?). Programs such as TweakUI and other comp tweaks can disable programs from stealing focus, and apparently these menu's appear to need to do that. Of course, a person could disable this by using TweakUI, but that setting is horribly handy for other reasons.

I was having the same exact problem, then remembered this setting and turned it off. It did indeed fix the problem.

Okay, I figured it out but I don't know why it still does this.

When I click on restock and it tells me to click on the item, it still freezes. My mouse and everything freezes. However, if I move my mouse the whole way to the bottom of the screen, it eventually appears so I can still click on items in the task bar. I went to the razor icon in the lower right corner, and double clicked it. It prompted me with the number input, for the amount of that item I wanted to take. I put it in, and bam it worked.

So, to SETUP the initial restock agent, my UO still freezes, but if I go back into razor, and put in the number I want, then it works just fine. I don't know why, I don't know how to explain it, but that's just what happens. I set a macro to the restock agent, and now whenever I hit that little button and hit my reg chest, I'm good to go!!!!!

I assume that maybe I goofed up a setting, making UO be the primary window at all times overtop of Razor? That's probably why UO freezes, because it's waiting for Razor's response (aka, me to put the number in).

DAMNIT IM AN IDIOT.

Go to general tab in UO. The option "use smart always on top" was disabled, making UO the primary window over Razor. UO must of just timed it when I clicked 700 times and it got no response back from Razor... like it was expecting.

CASE CLOSED.
