Default Auto open doors

Hello,

Basically, doors do not open with razor consistently. Now, I will qualify that. After logging in I can exit the home and the door will auto open. If I "get down the road" and have to head back for some reason, the door will not open when I try to enter the home. This happens at each door, in town, in the country, someone else's home. The door will open once and will not reopen automatically.

The *only* thing I can remember changing was creating a new shard. I had a shard, it worked well but had a lot of custom scripts. I downloaded the Runuo files and reinstalled. Added back in a few of the scripts from the other shard and that's been about it.

Not sure that it is related but mentioning it just in case. The only different script installed that was not on the last server was Knives Townhouses. I can't remember if the doors were opening before or after installation.

Now, to further muddy the waters, it "seems" that after I have opened the door and stayed gone for a bit by fighting, traveling, etc., I can sometimes return and have the door open a second time. It almost feels as if my original opening of the door has been flushed out of a cache somewhere and I can now open the door again. However, it is for that time only, meaning it will act as if I had originally opened the door and will not open it again.

Strange.

Any help is most appreciated.

You are using the current version of Razor, I would assume, since it would be a big waste of your time to report a bug with an older version of razor.

I know in my testing with at least Razor 27 most doors would open, the only doors it had a problem was with the doors that are only on Demise due to the increased support for new features.

Yes, using Razor 28.

No custom map files. The only customs are some scripts such as Knives Chat, Knives Townhouses and the Winecrafting system. A few other minor scripts but other than that, stock RunUo files.

This has been happening for a while now and it just finally got aggravating enough to come forward. (only because I got spoiled in the first place )

My first installation, everything worked fine for months. Once I reinstalled RunUo and had it up and running with just a small number of scripts did I start to notice it. I didn't think much about it at first because I wasn't going in and out of doors too often. As I started running through buildings trying to customize interiors, I noticed it quite a bit more. The only thing I know that is different now is that it is a fresh install with a few scripts, nothing like the monstrosity I had before when Razor opened the doors.

What type of UO are you running (ML,SE,etc) and what version (give the exact number) and what path do you have it installed in on your HD? And when did you install it (IE did you uninstall UO when razor was working, reinstall and now its broken, or was it the same UO version and suddenly stopped working).

Its very unlikely this is related to your RunUO scripts at all.

Zippy,

The last installed version of UO on my system was the SE version. The version that I am running is the latest patch version (I will post the version number tonight when I get home) as I just patched up this past weekend. All patches applied successfully so I should be at the latest version as of Sunday November 13th.

I have not reinstalled UO since March - April. Razor was working before and after. It has only been (that I can remember) since I reinstalled RunUO that I seem to be having the door issue. I basically killed the shard I had and created a new one. After creating the new one is when I noticed the doors not opening as normal.

Thanks Zippy!

I've seen problems like this too. But yea, it's very inconsistent. Like, itll open the front door of my tower, np. But if I leave, then come back, it might not. Or, itll open my front door, but wont open that door on the first level.

No custom maps or scripts that I know of (related to houses anyways...). I installed UO from the gigex.com UO AOS download, using the 2D version, fully patched up, using Razor 28 beta.
