[BUG] Save password & Smoke effect - RunUO

Save Password

- The save password it's a nice functionality but not work... 2d or 3d is equals ...
I think it work only on the oldest version of the client

Smoke Effect

- In the 3d client when a smoke effect is shown, razor make the client to crash. I try on OSI without razor and the client dont crash...
I have found this bug in the follow cases:
1) the main doom quest (for enter the gauntlet), when the ferryman appear.
2) on champion spawns when the champion become active and monsters appears
3) when town guards go away or sometimes when they arrives...

The lone common effect in this 3 cases is the teleport smoke effect which I think it make the client to crash

How many more times are you going to report the smoke effect bug? I swear I've seen it in at least 4 topics now. I think we get the point.

yes I describe it in many topic and I continue until nobody reply about. It's very hard to play with a continue crashing :|

Save passwords works fine for me with the latest 2D client.

Please don't make new topics about thigns which you have already mentioned.

the save password feature is kind of tricky

Especially for me, since I use a different 'profile' for each character. you must switch through all of your profiles, and be sure the save password option is set across all profiles. NOW, as each profile is used, sign in to UO with all available account names and passwords. The passwords should save.

or, if you dare, modify (Copy and paste) profile .xml file(s), verifying each profile xml file has the same passwords information set.

I cannot reproduce your problems with the smoke effect. Please cut & paste the windows "crash" message and paste it here.

well, the smoke effect is very easy to reproduce...
Note: I have not a crash log because is a client crash and not a razor crash.

Install runuo standard, decorate the world and ... (with 3D client):

First case:
1) go to doom dungeon
2) ring the bell
3) when the npc appear you will crash

Second case:
1) go to the witch apprentice quest in britain
2) continue the quest until the imp shall appear
3) when appear you will crash

Third Case:
1) go to an inactive champion spawn
2) use valor on it and activate it
3) you will crash because the activation make many smoke effect

Fourth Case:
1) bring a monster under guard protection
2) call guards
3) when guard go away you will crash

I think there are other cases, but this four are the most important...

I know you don't have a razor crash log. I want to know what the screen says when the client dies.

It says like "Exception 0xC0000005 in module client.exe at 0042f4d3" Thats what I need to know.

Code:

The instruction at "0x00405349" referenced memory at "0x1ec0c000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

Edit: I confirm the address... equals in all cases...
