RunUO Shard List

It would be great to have in runuo.com a runuo shard list like the one already exists in sphereserver.com

The list could show:

Shard Name: Brief Description| Shard Type (PVP/RP/[...]) | Average Players | Main Language | Connection | User's Rating

And It be cool to be able to sort servers by anyone of this, so its easy to find what you are looking for.

I suggest this so it is not necessary to download uogateway to connect to them and because runuo.com is probably the first site that people who want to play in a runuo shard will look at. A Loong time ago when I started playing Sphere it was very useful to me to find a ShardList in SphereServer.com and RunUO.com should have its one I think.

RunUO needs a tool to play on, as it does not accept encrypted clients. It might be cool to have UOG display the EMU type, rather than implement a list here which would need UOG anyway. *shrug* Ask on www.uogateway.com

UOG does display the emu type, it displays it as brand.

UO Gateway is our choice, there is no sense in trying to do our own list. This would require.

A) Resources we cannot afford to use
B) Code that is not currently in.
C) Would be doing exactly what is planned for UO 2.0 so it would be a waste of time.
D) Not every shard wants this, this would require RunUO to report back to this website, not everyone likes that so they would disable it. Thus it would not be a correct picture of the shards.
E) Like I said, UO Gateway is 80% RunUO anymore, so what does it matter?

When I say "We" I mean the community as a whole, ie Ryan's Pocket. When we go over our limit, Ryan has to pay for it. Since we do that just whats on this site at this time, having a list could triple or double that cost. Thus Its doubtful that a serverlist by RunUo would ever be possible.

No we cannot find somebody to host it for free. Ryan has the resources to everything himself, it just requires money that depending on if people donate we do or don't have.

Please understand I am speaking from experience, and what I have come to expect from Ryan :-) I am not speaking for Ryan, I just know that he pays alot of mone for his serves, and this would increase this cost.

Unlike Sphere, we are not hosted on providers domain.

What would be cool is if someone rated shards, and made a short list. The categorys could be.....

balance
staff skill
Player attitude
difficulty
(one more)

Then a rating can come from the average of the above 5. Thats what this comunity needs.

Looks more like a survey. I don't see very many people taking surveys.
