Well, I think this section of the forums should be closed. All that ever happens is people have a good suggestion, and then the usual response is, this is not on OSI, usually very rudely. There seems to be some confusion, as when most people see suggestions, they think some are wanted. Perhaps this should be renamed to OSi fixes or something along the lines? At least some clarification here.

Or perhaps the entire OSI clone idea should be dropped? Personally I dont like OSI, thats why I play on freeshards. I think having everything OSI has is a great goal, but why stop there? Wouldnt it be better to top them and show how much better RunUo is?

On the other hand playing devil's advocate, it could cause problems with future updates. With the next expansion pack being released, it could cause a whole slew of coding problems with the new things added as we dont know what they are doing or how it would affect what we already have done. My custom folder has 2071 files (most of which are mine, I usually dont use things from the script submission section, many are too buggy). I remember how fun i was for me (notice the sarcasm) updating those files from beta 36 to 1.0. And I could only imagine the Dev team going through a similar hell.

Went a little off tangent there. Not really a planning on a discussion/argument, just some ideas.

The reason RunUO is an OSI clone is so that the devs have a CLEAR plan of development to go off of, instead of a random hodgepodge of ideas that may or may not work together or even be wanted by everyone.

Ok. First time poster, longtime reader here.
I have to agree with Tremerelord here to the extent that the worlds that are being built upon should be expanded on as people see fit. Everyone who has left OSI's Production shards left for many of the same reasons or for some of their own. Most of those reasons im sure were attributed to the changes in the worlds that they made that only a handful of "whiners" rallied for. But i think I understand PSZ's point when he refers to a clear plan of development. I assume that he meant that as meaning OSI's production shards are being used as a basic structure to build around. Then again, having your own shard would allow you to make it whatever you wanted it to be above and beyond OSI. If someone wants to expand on something on their shard we have the freedom to do so thanks to the C programming language and Run UO.
But in any case if someone is trying to be helpful in earnest with their suggestions and they are inadvertently flamed for it, well.... I dont aggree with that. if a suggestion isnt "wanted" then no response would be nessecery at all in anycase.

RunUO is going to use OSI as a base for its script.

If you don't like it change the code yourself.
