Question RunUO 1.0 - Documentation wish...

It would be extremely helpful for admins and scripters, if, alongside the standard documentation, you would include a list of a number of things ( as complete and extensive as possible ), like particle effects, bodies, animations, etc.

The current bodies system on documentation says that you need the 3d installation to see it, perhaps a list would be more useful? not all people can or will install 3d only because they need to see some body numbers.

Its kinda cumbersome to hunt for them with insideuo and it would simplify everyone's life if you did, imho.

This of course, unless this documentation already exists, but if it exists, where is it? someone's website? or like most things of late in the subscribers forums?.

Btw if its only on subscribers forums, dont bother telling me, as I dont have access and wont susbcribe for various reasons.

I think it should be a subscriber only feature then

You should want to support RunUO so it doesn't go bye-bye. You can't afford $3 once or twice a year?

If everyone did that, would help pay the bills easily.

And what exactly do you belive to be in the subscribers section that you don't have in the regular areas? Honestly, the biggest single advantage is that there are far fewer whiners and flamers there. You tend to get better help only because there is less crap to wade through. If that's not worth half of what you spent on lunch today, then well, I guess you have made your statement and proven my point.

Im not against the subscribers forums, but I am against any form of discrimination, since we are as per statements in the whole runuo web, a community, and the keyword is community.

I respect Ryan and his team, for hosting the site, running 2 servers, the boards, making RunUO and whatnot, and I definetly dont want to start a argument war, or flame contest, if anyone wants to flame me because of any opinions they can go and sh*** it, like the immature little kids they are.

As much as I admire the guys that make RunUO for being true wizards, I cant help them in that way, and as a Opensource community I feel that this community should allow that all people sharing, should all share alike, in the chance to have the best you can get for whatever project you are trying to achieve.

But none of those are my reasons, Daniel, the reason I have to not subscribe are the sort of reasons, one does not discuss over the internet on public boards. If you truly want to find out why though... pm me, and I'll let u know.

At any rate... this isnt what I was asking about and is getting off topic.

All I really wanted to know is if there is one such documentation made already, or if it inst, whether anyone has made anything close to it, and if not, well... I'll just make my own, like Ive had to do other times when Ive needed anything for my humble home shard, and no one was either able or willing to lend a hand.

Btw sry for posting so much, and for the way I asked about this before.

Currently, a documentation such as that does not exist. I do believe it's on the "todo list".

The devs have mentioned that they are working on "better" documentation for the next release, but other than that i'm not sure. I believe what you are asking for really isn't part of RunUO as it is UO. Not a bad idea thought, would be nice I guess to not have to open insideuo or pandora's box to find a static number for something or what have you.

On a side note, i'm rather dissapointed in David and Phantom as it is not their place to pass judgement on why someone hasn't subscribed or heckle them for not being a subscriber. If you wish to subscribe then so be it, if not that is your business. He only was curious if someone had already made it and kept it for subscribers only(true he could have said it nicer, but), your comments were not necessary.

Perhaps. And maybe he just caught me at a bad time, but he opened the door. I read his last two lines as going out of his way to criticize the idea of the subscriber forums. It had nothing at all to do with the question at hand.

edit: And to clarify, I have no problem at all with anyone who does not wish to contribute for whatever reason. RunUO is free, and I help anyway I can to keep it free. What I took exception to was the attitude that some small concessions to those that help Ryan pay the bills is somehow unfair.

Final Realms, between PerfectWing and bean56 I think you have received accurate information.
