Default container spawners

a good idea would be to create a container spawner { [add spawner container id }
which works in most ways like a normal spawner, only it spawns inside, isntead of outside

should not be too hard? but in any case, il start looking through spawner scripts maybe i can create one myself

tho im only ok in c# prolly need to learn mroe how it works ot make such items

oh and also in spawners have a prioraty setting thing like maybe a default setting of 5, for common, 1 would be super rare, 10 woudl be, omg TURN IT OFF ALREADY
so maybe if you ahve 3 items set to spawn one is set at 7, one at 5 one at 1, and a max item spawn of 10

id spawn possably around 5 of the 7(more than common) 4 of the 5(common) or 6 and 1, or none of the 1(rare)

edit: err, one more suggestion/idea woudl be allowing counselor or GM class and higher to be able tot arget in all faucets, for those of us who perfer to give physical punishment rather than jailtime (and find the [kill command to be lacking the fun)

I second that, I was just about to post about this when I saw your post. I was thinking the container spawners should be pretty much identical to the other ones except they only spawn items in chests. As far as rare items vs. common items you could just have 2 or 3 different spawners inside the chest and edit the times. (common items every 30-60 mins and rare items every 5-10 hours...or whatever) I would be happy with any way anyone does it though.

using mutliple spawners is how i do the overworld now but if i codul set the rarity level wodul make it easier and cut the spawner usage down, adn the way i woduld ot he containers is make the container the spawner itself, and therefore woudlnt be able to ahve 2 or 3 placed inside

Why don't you just script a container class and spawn that?

i think you bring that up every time someone mentiosn a containewr spawner, and simple reason, i dont want to ahve to script 4 or 5 hundred different classes spawners because i will varey rarly make the same spawn contents

What we are wanting to do is specify what items will spawn in each container. Like in the blacksmith shops you will only find containers blacksmith items like ingots, armor, weapons, etc. Here is an example :

Common items would be : regular ingots, smith hammers, regular weapons and armor, etc. (spawns frequently)

Rare items would be : copper ingots, gold ingots, silver wire, gold wire, etc. (spawns very rarely)

The shop containers would be locked of course (if you wish) so the only way to get the items is to pick the lock, disarm a trap if there is one, and steal them. The chances of getting caught and getting guard-whacked would be based on the player's stealing skill. This is pretty much how it was on osi when I played.

Again you can make container classes for those? You can do them exactly how treasure chest are done. Who wants the same junk to be there every time :-)

you could even make one class that does several different functions. Using an enum :-)
