this is a god idea that needs addressed.
hero / evil was possibly the best warring system osi ever had and was only avail on siege. each side had thier seperate powers hero : summon white wolf,summon steed,detect evil,bless weapon,holy skin,holy protection..there was 3 more but i forgot them. evil had all the same powers cept in evils form : summon dark wolfs,dark steeds,evil skin,vile weapon or bow,detect good,monster ignore,couple more i forget. i played evil and it was a perminent thing where as hero wasnt,if a hero pk'd anyone they lost hero and became normal again. to become hero goto any good shrine and say "i will defend they virtues" to become evil goto the chaos shrine and say "i am evil incarnate" while out of town and guard areas heros were grey evils were red. in town both were blue. if a pvp fight started out of town and either combatants ran into town the guards would not get involved and the fight could continue until one died. also any blue casting or doing anything good to an evil made them grey for 5 minutes to all evils and freely attackable anywhere including town. when an evil tamed an animal and a blue attacked it the blue became grey for 5 minutes and freely attackable to all evils anywhere. blessing weapons made them do 3 times the damage to undead and evils. viling a weapon or bow gave it lvl 5 poisen which was un curable,it didnt matter if the hero had 10 guys around him curing it he would still die almost instantly ie: a vang ex acc heavy grossbow does up to 42 damage every hit ,vile poisen did 50 some damage every 3 seconds so when a hero got hit by vile it was a serious mistake to be in that area. i played an evil archer along with my brother on siege,we were unstoppable , it got to the point that heros would camp my house in large groups to try a gankfest on me and i would usually kill 3-4 of em off before the rest would run and hide, this is how powerfull vile was when combined with archery. likewise when a hero blessed a melee weapon,i never saw a bow blessed,i dont think it was possible,but i did die a couple of times to a blessed war mace .there was also spheres of power and spell levels. heros for spheres by killing black wisps and evils. it was 1 sphere power for each wisp and a percentage of the targets sphere and levels i dunno the the actual way this was dirrived. evils got these for killing blue wisps and heros. evils could still go red from pking and be repoerted for murder except if they had enough sphere power ,if they had above 10 power i believe they could not be reported.i never pk'd blue's only heros and actual pks who were defensless against the vile weapon. also hero/evil could use thier powers for other ppl-blues. bless/vile would work for blue players since one the weapon was enbued non godly persons could use them till the charges ran out. the only difference was the 5th lvl vile poison weapon in a blues hands would only do deadly poisen damage -lvl 3. keep in mind this is all information i collected as playing evil before the factions started,there was a timeframe of about 1 year when osi disabled hero/evil and wen they brought it back some functions were changed,since i left siege when they disabled it i do not know the new features. there used to be a link on www.uostratics.com in the fame/reputation link that explained this all and the words of power and what each ability did. if anyone wants to start programming this for runuo i would be more than happy to help them with anything they need such as what spells did,words of power,abilities an so on...BUT I AM NOT A PROGRAMMER, i am an electrician by trade and don't know shit about programming. you can contact me by icq 15226687. or i play on New Krylon as Gm Josey Wales i really do hope some one picks up on this idea and runs with it,i do miss it alot. |

Very good summary, details like that always help a lot...
(no idea as to the accuracy, but impressive nonetheless.)

Put it this way, if this was ever added to the scritps by the devs, then their would be a million Siege shards.
I don't think anything not on a normal OSI server should be added. Maybe I'm trying to save my own ass, but i dont want to see a million Siege shards thank. |

who says it needs to be in distro....
why can't this be a script much like order chaos? and flare you obviously never tried to be anything other than an average uo player,or you would show more repsect for what hero evil was on abyss/siege. it was in short the best pvp system osi ever enabled.it took the normal shard an elevated it to an entirely new style of gameplay. opening on siege : "this is ment to be an experienced veteran shard,unless you are lord/lady on a current shard we suggest you start there" somethign to that effect....this was osi's first attempt at keeping vets happy,to bad they gave up on that concept and started catering to the diaper wearing carebears..... to the devs,if any thought has been givin to this being in the distro thats cool as hell,and if not i'd still like to extend the idea to a sciptor to undertake. again anyone needing help with the power words.functions of anything feel completely free to icq me i will help in any way i can to get this enabled. 15226687 - this is checked daily around 5 pm eastern. |

I'm pretty sure they plan on releasing the faction system, as well as chaos and order, in a later release... when they're finished.

I'm actually working on it right now...but stratics dosnt give much info about it. I have no clue what the gumps look like ect. I have 90% of the spells done, So I hope it wont take me took much longer to script, but the hard parts are up ahead. If someone could PM me with Gump info, and other Info not on stratics, it would help me out so much....Thanks.
