Default Black Screen

I was recently on a shard where the Admin had a command to make the screen go black and then come on a few seconds later with a message saying "you can see again."

I was unaware that this could even be done but am curious if anyone knows what would need to be done to do something similar to that.

Thanks

Aahhh thank you very much. I searched but I guess I wasn't using the correct key words. Very much appreciated.
