I can start the server fine, I can run UOGateway fine, I have all the newly updated softwarefor UOG and RunUO and UO Client is patched.
What happens is I can log in fine. The server recognizes my username and password, but as soon as I click on the Shard I am trying to run it disconnects me from the server and my Client hangs indefinitely. It just continues to show "Connecting ..." but if I look at the server console it shows that the client already logged off. Furthermore, I have tried it on the server host computer and another CPU on the LAN. No dice, same results on both. I have tried searching the forums for something like this, but nothing quite like it yet. Does anyone have any ideas??? Sincerely, Pacer |

Yes I have a router, but I am in no way connecting THROUGH the router when I am trying to connect tothe server from the SAME COMPUTER as the one running the server. I just tried the other one to see if it might have been a memory issue on the server computer, but it was not. So, until I can actually connect on the same computer, I probably won't try the router. And yes, I did update ServerList.cs when I tried to connect from outside, and I have searched through a ton of articles about not being able to log in, and still no dice -- I have found nothing similar to my dilemna. Sincerely, Pacer |

[code:1]And yes, I did update ServerList.cs when I tried to connect from outside, and I have searched through a ton of articles about not being able to log in, and still no dice -- I have found nothing similar to my dilemna. [/code:1] Hate to break it everyone has this problem... Did you set the ServerList.cs to run on your public internet ip? Thats the only way outside connections will be able to connect ( of course foward the port to your machine ). Oh btw you are connect to the router, to the internet so yes you are going through the internet. What you have to do however is connect to your local ip. Many solutions I thought one was in the FAQ forum I guess not. |

Let me explain what I am trying to do here: Following the FAQ, I want to try and load RunUO Server on a computer and then, on the SAME computer, run a client and connect to the server. Therefore, I have the null to find the IP automatically of the very same computer. Considering I am able to log in and connect fine, I don't think it is having a problem doing this. Hope that's a bit more clear. I can connect to the Serrver, I can login and get a list of Shards, but I can not actually ENTER a shard. That's my problem. Sincerely, Pacer |

The way that i am doing it at the house with connecting a client to the same computer that has the RunUO server running is by using UOGateway, simply going to custom shard and entering the ip 127.0.0.1, non-encryption, port 2593. I never had to edit the ServerList.cs to connect to the 'local-host'. |

I don't know what it might be. I am going to try and reconfigure my system some and see if that works. Sincerely, Pacer |

Try using your LAN IP or the loopback in serverlist.cs... Just for sh!ts and giggles.
