Does anyone know what Frontend actually does and why people are against it?

It's an interface for the RunUO Service.

People are against it because it was never finished. People are against it as it REQUIRES the Service, which most users do not know how to use (Or even what a Service IS in Windows). At this time it is far easier to support the universally compatible (Frontend/Service will not work in 9x) and universally easier to set up Executable form of RunUO.

People who know how to set up and use Services already don't tend to NEED support ;->
