Get a program like Rambooster, it will show exactly how much RAM and CPU power you are using.

If you're running JUST the server, 1GB will be enough for a while, but when you run a client on the same machine youself, you might have some problems once more people log on. Right now I have 1GB, an AMD3200 CPU and running on Win98SE, and with a fully spawned Trammel (including wildlife) and partial spawned other maps I am having no problems when 10 or so players get on at the same time and me running the 3D client on the same PC, my connection starts giving problems long before my PC cannot handle it.

Why are you using that old ass OS with your system? That might be your problem.

XP would do so much better job or W2k for that matter and to save alot of cpu load get ride of that POS coded uo3d and only run in 2d. You will be so much happier

Hk

PS

If you can afford that type of system then you can afford a new OS to go with it.

A note here. There is a bug in Windows 9x series with regards to RAM amounts over 512MB, which could cause your problem.

windows versions prior to win2k don't utilize over 512mb ram and have issues when you add more. if i remember correctly the same goes for processors over 2ghz.
