Default Server in LAN or internet but...both?

Hi.

I have 4 computers in Lan with a Router. In 1 computer is working runuo server.
I have the next problem:

1. If i put 'null' into ServerList then Lan can connect to server but internet people cannot

2. If i put my public IP into ServerList then internet people can connect to server but only computer with server can connect from LAN. Other 3 computers cannot

3. If i put my public IP and my server LAN ip into Serverlist i have the same problem that second point.

Thanks
This is a great forum..

Are you trying to connect to your server from your other computers through the wan ip or lan ip?

I can't gaurentee that this will work for you but... I was having a similar problem last night with my first server and this is how I got it to work. 1.) Do not use DHCP, assign each of your computers a unique IP in their TCP/IP settings (make sure you use your router IP as the gateway, and put in the DNS addresses from your ISP.) 2.) Use both public and private IPs in your ServerList.cs. 3.) On your router go to the forwarding entries and allow forwarding of port 2593 ONLY for the ip address of the machine that has your server on it. At this point internet users shuld be able to log on using the extenal IP and your local machines should be able to log on using the LAN IP of the server., at least this was the case for me. Also once you change the IP addresses of your machine you should probably run ipconfig from the command prompt for each machine just to make sure that the machine is reflecting the new settings, if it is you are good to go, otherwise run ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew or reboot the machine (If you are running anything other than XP you will be forced to reboot anyway.) Can' say that this will work for you but did for me with XP and a Linsys 4 port router.

What type of router do you have? Netgear routers and perhaps a few others do not allow access to the WAN IP from a LAN computer. If you have one like that you need to look in the FAQ forum for the fix that Phantom posted.

Try this ServerList.cs

It was what finally managed to get my server working over LAN and Internet through a router

Here !
