I hope I am posting this is the right place (and CERTAIN I'll hear about it if I'm not!
). I have read the commands docs of the server. And to tell the truth without intending to be insulting, that is very close to useless. Sorry but it is true. <snip> Usage: Area <command> [condition] Alias: Group Invokes the command on all appropriate objects in a targeted area. Optional condition arguments can further restrict the set of objects. </snip> This is ALL there is on this command, at the VERY least it needs an example to show the format, and some clues on what a VALID [condition] is would SURE be helpful! The 'optional condition arguements' is a bit ambiguis isnt it? Some clues on WHAT conditions and how to 'state' them? I would love to get a good handle on this, it SURE would save me time in allowing me to manage areas, rather than item at a time. I hope the frustration I am feeling isnt irritating you folks too badly, I been working with computers for over 30 years, and love to program. But I do need some sort of a starting place to work/learn from. I tired to place a 'level/floor' under an area, and then found that the water and stuff reached further down than I had assumed, so I used the [area inc z ## [condition] (in this case I put ItemID = 1339 {the cave floor I was using}) wanting to move ONLY the cave floor tiles I had placed. Well, I guess I didnt use the right delimiter, or format for something and it moved EVERYTHING that wasnt already static. Well, after 2 days of repairing (I did it over a large area is why it took so long) I have finally managed to move everything back to where it was, I think, alot of the spawners seem to have fallen too low, and the mobiles spawned are dropping right through the floor to the lower level I made. These little issues are not my post, I can handle them, tho it is ALOT of hand editing work. What I would like to request here is a new version of the Command Docs, that includes a functional example with each one, to see the proper format for it and the correct delimiters and stuff. Is this alot to ask? Aside from this, I find that RunUO is the most awesome shard I have seen yet! I anxiously await the future and what ever RunUO may bring! Thank you DEV Team for all your hard work and sweat and love that you put into it! It's AWESOME! |

[area <command> [where <type> <property> <condition> <value>]
( The part in brackets is all labeled as the condition, and is optional ) Examples: [area remove [area kill where BaseVendor [area set hits 100 where PlayerMobile Hits != 100 [area get location where Mobile Name == "Mark" |

Thank you for pointing me to this Changelog. It is helping, but it doesnt show an actual example, as it would be used. Do I use the [ & ] in the command? and it implies that there can be 2 sections enclosed in these brackets.
- (Game Master) Area <command> [args] [condition] [area [inc z -15] [where itemid = 1339] Like this? Honestly, little things like FUNCTIONAL examples make SUCH a difference in if it is understood or not. Or am I just dense? Thanx a ton for the assist, hope I not being too much trouble! |

also in this thread i give some good examples of how to use it
(global is world wide - can also use with area - which you then target the area to be done in) How would I move all my items and a few other commands paramiters: where itemid == 1234 is all items of a certain itemid can also be hue, etc where playermobile != internal - all logged in players where playermobile race == human - only players that are human and not elf where playermobile race == human && map != internal --- human that are logged in etc can be combined to the limit of the command line
