Default House customization bug?

Howdy,

Recently one of our players paged saying that a portion of the floor of his house had dissappeared and he could not get in. Somehow he managed to involuntarily delete the base dirt tiles of his house (some of the edge ones, nearest to the foundation tiles).

I have not been able to reproduce it on another houses though, so I don't know the exact cause. He says he just placed floor tiles and then deleted them, but it still showed the dirt tiles, until he commited the design, when they dissappeared.

I assume it's a bug, we shouldn't be able to delete the land plot tiles, should we?

I can tell you I am sure this isn't a bug.

Could you elaborate, please? Is that an intended feature? A known issue? Is land plot supposed to be modificable? I thought it wasn't. And never saw anything like this in OSI, that's why I'm asking.

Thanks,

Your player has no idea what he is talking about.

Why? I have checked it and it's true, the tiles are missing. I can show you a screenshot if you want.

Actually if it is a bug it would be best if you could provide as much information about it as possible so that someone might be able to recreate. Can you recall what was going on with the server at the time? Did the server crash or anything? Is this a regular player account or a staff acount? Do you have any custom or modified scripts pertaining to custom houses, or any houses in general? etc...any information would be useful. I happen to have someone on my staff that can generally reproduce any bug with step by step instructions on how to do so, so if you can provide me with more info I'll try to find out what's causing it and come up with a fix for it (unless it's in the core.)

Yes Phantom, I was pretty sure of that. However it never hurts to try and make a fix for it anyway But beings how I've never seen it happen nor even heard of it until now, there isn't much for me to test it on :P

Nothing strange, no.

It was a regular player account the one that provoked this. He says he customized the house, put some floor tiles on the first floor, tried to commit but he was short on money so he started to delete the floor tiles one by one. He confirmed he could see all the dirt tiles when he deleted the floor ones and was about to commit the house. He did so and when he tried to enter he couldn't because there was no floor to walk on.

Later I (staff account) entered that house in customization mode to check it out and saw floor tiles (cobblestones) where the missing dirt tiles should be. I deleted them and saw that there was nothing under them, no dirt tiles. I placed normal floor tiles (stone pavers) on the empty spots, I commited the house and the player could access it with no problems. Then I customized it again, deleted the floor tiles again and saw the dirt tiles were still missing, though I played a bit with the customization tool and some of them finally appeared (a few are still missing).

As far as I know, the housing system has not been modified. Will ask for confirmation though.

Yes.. And I've had some glitches, like for example being able to delete tiles under staircases and such, but they always were as you say part of the house customization process and never showed after I commited one house. But this time it did for some reason, that's kinda why I asked.

Cool Old School

Ya if you are a pre AOS OSi player. You will remember that when Aos went in it messed up allot of the houses. doors floors and the like. Find an old Gm and they will know how to fix it.
