Default Spawns

The NPC count on my shard is sky-rocketing. The count will go up over 1000 in just a few hours. It's at around 71k right now. Any suggestions on how do find the extra spawns?

Write a program to display the locations of the spawners and how many mobiles are spawned by it.

Additional optional code is make the code display which Mobiles will be spawned by the given spawner.

I have one. Does it show when a spawn was edited in the logs? or just created?

You tell me, if you have one, why are you asking me?

I was talking about the server logs, I am not the shard host, so I can't see them. You don't have to be a jerk about it. Can someone else suggest something, because Phantom feels that he has to be a jerk about everything instead of trying to help people out nicely. I understand why you've been banned from here before, because you are a jack-ass and you feel that you are above everyone else. Why not try to help people out rather than giving smart-ass responses.

Not everyone can just write a program/script to do this (I understand that it was a suggestion), does anyone know of a pre-existing program/script that is useful in my situation?

Thats my problem that you cannot do it?

I gave you a suggestion, you asked me a question, unclear at that, and I tried to reply correctly. If you want to give me more information I would be more then willing to help you.

Just don't attack me, because I did nothing wrong.

Do you have any camps spawned on the shard? (Orc Camps, Lizardman Camps, etc)

If so, either get the BaseCamp fix, or wait for the next version of RunUO (Which includes an improved version)

In the meantime:

[global get map where item
[global get map where mobile

This will list each facet items and mobiles are on. If you see a high amount of creatures/mobiles in the null map, you may need the basecamp fix.

This was your smart-ass response that I was referring to.

Thanks psz for the suggestion.

And I tried a search for this, but didn't find anything that was very useful.

The host found a packet text file that was over 350mb in the main folder, anyone know what that could be?

I don't really have any more info on what's going on, it's just that there's way too many spawns, and the programs for showing all of the spawns take forever to go through, the shard is lagging bad and I need to fix it quick.

There were a lot in the null map. So I guess I'll grab that basecamp fix. Thanks again psz.

That response is perfectly fine, incase you forgot, you asked me:

And my response was, tell me if it does, your the one with it.

How do I know which program you have? How can you think anyone could give you a response. So I told you simply said, "tell me if it does or not", i mean what exactly did you want from me?

If you think that response was rude, I am not sorry, because its not rude in the slighest bit.

I wasn't very clear on this, I wanted to know if the server command logs showed the editing of spawners.

How exactly do you wipe the 'null' facet? I saw a couple of things about it, but it wasn't very clear. If there is a post about how to do this, just post a link please. I couldn't find one. I searched for 'null facet' and it only came up with 11 topics, this one included.

I tried modifying that internal map cleanup tool, but it didn't work.. Anyone got an already modified version of this? Or a command to wipe the null facet?
Code:
Scripts: Compiling C# scripts...failed (1 error, 0 warnings)
 - - Error: Scripts\Custom\NullItems.cs: CS0117: (line 111, column 18) 'Server.Map' does not contain a definition for 'Null'
Scripts: One or more scripts failed to compile or no script files were found. - Press return to exit, or R to try again.
Or if you know how to fix that...

when you add monsters/npcs to server, keep track of what you put. so then if needed you can do a simple.
[global delete (monster)
do that for the monsters. (i scripted this as a gump on what mobs i wanna del)
and let them respawn again perhaps

What Eiellur is trying to say is that we have jumped from about 250k items and 24k mobiles to over 800k items and 74k in mobiles in little over a week.

The null facet has over 500k in items stored in it and 44k in mobiles in it. What we are wondering is there a way to clean out the null facet without creating a major problem within the shard?

....I want to delete the monsters on the null facet, not all of them on the entire shard.

You don't want to do that, trust me

You would basicly wipe some of your players items, if you did that.

Anything that shouldn't be there, is deleted by code that is ran at launch, so those items and mobiles are suppose to be on that map.

So, pretty much, we have to find what script is causing those mobiles and items to be there and fix it?

there are many things that are on the internal map that are supposed to be there so you have to delete things there with care. There should be nothing with a null map that is supposed to be there so these things can be safely eliminated.
You should certainly fix the problem as well. It is probably related to a problem with basecamps.

The basecamp is fixed now, and the item and mobile count is the same, so either it didn't delete the items or that wasn't the problem...

yes, that fix will stop the generation of additional items due to the spawning/basecamp problem but will not eliminate items that are already there. There are a couple of solutions to this. You can try the script that raisor just posted in submissions that wipes things will a null map, or you can use the [xmlfind utility in the xmlspawner2 package to list and delete them. The wipe is the easiest route, [xmlfind if you are curious about what is there.
