little problem with npc's

hi guys,

just dled RunUO few days ago so call me a noob

i set everything up and got it running without bigger probs but there is a small problem.
no npc is reacting on any text like buy, sell or follow.
buying and such over the context menue with leftclick is working but they seem to be deaf

i was searching for some similar problem in the forums but couldnt find anything.
running with 1.0 and nerun's distro.
i hope someone has an idea.

From one noob to another

I spent a day wondering why this was happening on my shard, too. Then something clicked in my head - I was running around hidden as a GM. As soon as I made myself visible the vendors started responding to me.

I guess they thought they'd gone mad, hearing words out of thin air

No, they just didn't hear anything. When staff are hidden, only other staff (equal level or lower) can see the words they speak.

Since vendors aren't staff level, they can't hear you say anything.
