Default Lost in Translation

OK here is the dilemma>>>> I have set the skill cap in charactercreation.cs to allow no skill cap, you can legend all skills but some skills only raise to gm status, i have searched everywhere i see a skill script and cannot for the life of me figure out where to find the script or scripts i need to raise skills to allow players to legend them? The ones listed below are some that i know wonts raise above 100:

fishing
hiding
detect hidden
tinkering
mining

any help would be greatly appreciated as i have been trying to find out how to do it on my own for about 3 days now.

So are you trying to make powerscrolls for them? or are you trying to cap them at 120 without having to use a powerscroll. If you want to do the powerscroll thing, just search for PowerScroll.cs in your RunUO folder and edit the skills list.

No i dont want to use powerscrolls and i already have the value set in charactercreation.cs for the skills to go to 120 but some of them arent raising above 100? I have searched all scripts in my runuo folder and didnt see anything where i can set the value for those skills higher? was wondering if maybe i was overlooking a line of code or maybe in the wrong script or something?

If I understand you correctly, you are stating that the caps are in place, just that the players can't seem to raise them over 100 by actively using the skill?

If RunUO works the same as OSI, then skills won't raise past 100 if there is a 100% chance of success on the item. Take Cooking for example. At 100, you have 100% chance to make whatever item you want to but it won't raise skill since you are guaranteed to make it.

I saw that you mentioned tinkering and this sort of throws that idea out the window since you only have like an 80% chance to make a spyglass at 100 therefore you should be able to progress past 100. Hmmm.

OK I have set a skill cap of 68400 or whatever it is to make it where all skills can go legendary, if you open the skills sheet on your paperdoll and click actual it shows some at 120 and some at 100, the ones at 100 players are not able to raise to 120, I have searched every skill script in the directory and for that matter every script but i can't find anything that i need to edit to allow the players to raise them all to 120? Is there a script or scripts that i need to edit to allow the skills stuck at 100 to go to 120?

Ahh, yes for crafting there are no powerscrolls, outside of smithing and tailoring, as well as some others, herding, begging etc.

some skills need changes to be able to get to 120 as well, like fishing, cooking, tinkering.

you need something that has less than 100% success to gain in it, no matter what your cap is.

ok so where do you change it in the script? i have looked everywhere and either i am overlooking it or it isnt there to change?

You could check out daats OWL system. It has powerscrolls for the craft skills.

You may also want to check out the def*.cs files.
