If you go to one of the ilshenar dungeons, you will find colored lights. i would love to know how to create them. in addition, i accidently went to the add menu and added a LightSource and now I can't delete it. Any ideas on either question?

I don't think the light source is really a different color, its most likely the tiles around it making it appear like it is. |

Do you know of the dungeon that I speak? I know braziers give red light. Poison fields give green light. Magic Runes give blue light. Skull candles give yellow light. Shoot I guess that covers it. But those items don't always exist... let me get the coordinates for this place I speak of.

So Nomuk did have some use after all =-)
I remember the day OSI implemented colored lighting and the option to turn it off. So yes, colored lighting does exist. I can't, however, find a way to modify what colors a lightsource emits server-side. It appears to be client-based. If you [add item( 3688 ), you will get a glowing rune with blue colored lighting. Ilshenar has many of these light sources in its dungeons: orange torches, red braziers.

isn't all this kinda misguided? I mean, yea to me its obvious that the client controls colors of colored lighting. but, that makes sense doesn't it? wouldn't the proper method of controlling colored lighting be to choose the lightsourse that you desire, to get the effect that you desire?
so, the original questions were how to add the lighting that's used in Illsh, right? to me, the obvious answer is to use the same items that are used in illsh. probably easier said than done since there static... but there's gotta be a way to figure it out. would InsideUO help? (have yet to use it...) the other question, about removing a lightsource that you've added... I'd like to know that myself, just in case I ever need to know. no clue where to even start looking on how to do that. so, a [wipe command works aparently. good to know! ![]() |

Orbit, Britian is... special. the sceanery is not only static, its 'painted' on the map permanently as well. britian itself was the original map for UO during the design phase, and aparently instead of redoing the whole thing the original group doing the maps simply used the new method (statics) on top of the old "paint" method. point being, you can't modify most of brit AFAIK. at least not without creating a whole new map from scratch. |

never actually used any of them myself...
check out that Orbsydia site (or whatever its called) that, and there's a shard with a good website, called "Rhivan's Legacy" or something similar. that guy created an entire map from scratch for his shard. |
