Odd sound problems with new server

I am new to RunUO ... was working with POL but could never get the thing running ... so here I am ... anyway I ahve an odd problem ...

I started RunUO ... created an admin character ... set skills and attributes to max ... gave him a staff of the magi (just because I could) ... created a horse for him to ride and tamed it ... went through a moongate to yew (checking out my world) and the following has happened:

1. My character and my horse are grey (like a ghost) ... If I get off the horse it goes back to normal.

2. I cannot hear my own footsteps ... however Ican hear doors opening ... moongate going off ... music ... I can also hear the footsteps of NPCs ...

3. I did a save and restart and came back in the same condition ...

Even with this it puts RunUO lightyears ahead of POL for me ... at least I can get the damn server running and log in ...

Any help would be greatly appreciated ... thanks in advance ...

You're grey because you're a staff member. When you hop off your horse, it becomes visible. That's also why you can't hear your own footsteps, but can hear the moongate, doors opening, and NPC's. Type [unhide, target yourself, and you will unhide. Type [hide again and target yourself to re-hide.

[Invis works too both ways.. :P
