Default Server.exe closes every now and then and "Saves" folder dissapears.

Yeah it happens almost every other day but I don't know why. It doesn't say it's a crash or anything but when I reload Server.exe it loses all the data, I have to make a "new" Saves folder and copy and paste the most recent back up all the time.

Anyone who has had the same issue and had it resolved can you please guide me?

It's pretty troublesome but I would like to know if there are reasons why does it act up like this. Just asking, I'm not good with computers see...so

Thank you in advanced

Thank you for your reply.

How do I do a RAM Test?

My computer specs are 256mb DDR ram. Pentium 4 1.9 ghz with 80gb Harddisk Space. I think those info are what you're looking for right?

I suggest this program.

http://www.memtest.org

Just make the floppy and boot from it. Let it run a few passes to overnight even if you want.

Your shard is crashing during a save, because its running out of memory.

You need more then 256MB of RAM to run a shard.

But the only person who plays in the shard is me, sometimes 2 of my friends play too.

And the Faq page showed that with the minimum specs which is also 256mb ram can hold 30 players without lag.

So you mean I have to add some more? I asked my friend if I should add more but I don't know the max mb of ram my computer can hold.

Thank you for replying and thanks in advanced.

The FAQ page might say you only need 256MB of RAM doesn't make it right.

.NET Framework sounds like its is running out of memory, and the application is crashing.

You should find out how much your computer can support.

Ram does not in any way increase/decrease lag. That is based upon you computers processing speed and your internet connectivity.

Fast computer, few statics, and a fast connection makes a shard fast, but not RAM amount.

Although I read in a PC magazine that have MASSIVE quantities of RAM may slightly increase processing speed. I have a 3.0 GHZ, 2 GB RAM, 4.5 MB cable connection computer. It runs with little lag. Also note that the Massive quantities of ram effect may work in
reverse.

And also lag is not a 1-way issue. If someone is lagging, and your computer is god, thier hardware sucks.

Just some info.
