Having problems with RunUO - RunUO

For some reason, when i run the server and change my login to LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593, and try to run my client (decrypted with rice) it says it cannot connect to uo, please try again in a few moments. I also tried to use uogateway but it says i have no clients installed on my computer. Anyone know a way to help?

If your using the UO:ML beta don't

But besides that what version of the client are you using. UO Gateway should be able to detect all current releases ( except the beta for obvious reasons ).

What client are you running, as in CD, also, what version of UOG? If it is not the latest, update. Do you get any console errors when logging in or attempting to log in?

We need details.

Im using the client that came with SE, ive also patched it. i have the latest uog i think its 1.9beta. i dont even get to log onto uo, it says it couldnt connect with uo, please try again later. if you mean logging onto runuo then no, no problems, the server starts with no errors. i think its not reading my login file but im not sure. when i create the local shard on uog and try to run it, it says that there are no clients installed on my comp.

Two Questions...

1. Is there any message in the RunUO window when you're trying to connect?

2. Do you start "client.exe" or something like "No_Crypt_Client_2d.exe"?

1. RunUO loads fine, but when i try to connect with my client it doesnt say that anyone is trying like usual.

2. i use uo_rice to get no_crypt_client_2d

UO Rice is not supported

Use UO Gateway and it will work.

ive used uorice with earlier versions of runuo and it worked fine. i cant use uogateway because when i try to run my shard, after turning on the runuo server and making it in the local shards part of uogateway, it tells me it cannot run the shard because there are no clients installed on my computer. which isnt true. my runuo server prompt doesnt even say that im trying to connect when i turn on the client and attempt to log on.

Try reinstalling UO?

I've never heard of this error before, and we do only support UOG -- thus I have no experience with UO Rice.

i have tried reinstalling uo 2 times and have patched both, what i dont get is when i tried using my old runuo, the 35beta i get the same error all the sudden. a week ago i could use the 35beta with no problems, but now neither will work. im thinking its not reading the login.cfg file, because the runuo server box doesnt even reconize me trying to log on. but it will save periodicly like normal.

How about trying to get on the server from the server box...

If you're not on the same computer, this sounds like a router/IP problem, not a client problem.

what do you mean?

i use my computer to make the shard and noone has really ever been on it, it was just for bordem whem offline. im trying to make it where my brother can play too but now i cant. im doing everything like i did a year ago. open the server, change ip in login.cfg, remove encryption using uo_rice and use the client it gives me, that used to work. but im at a loss because ive been using a old runuo and now theres the 1.0.0 and i think i might of done something wrong. could you put step by step what you did to make it work for you?

Do NOT use Rice. It is unsupported for a reason. Make sure that your UO Client is patched up to 4.0.11c (this is the current version for both the 2D and the 3D client). Make sure that you are using UOGateway version 1.9.1265 and that you are connecting using your lan IP 127.0.0.1 and that encryption is disabled. If this form of loggin in is still not functioning for you then you can still log in using Razor.
