Is there anyway to connect to someone's RunUO shard from behind a lan that seems to only allow you to use port 80? I am not an extreme computer literate, but I was wondering if there was a guide, or proggie to do this.
I also don't know how to find out my T-1 host's router either. Thanks bunches!! |

Yes!
In order to properly test the server I'm working on I had to set it up ona dedicated machine on my LAN, however I don't use a router, mearly ICS (internet connection sharing) which only passes port 80 to LAN machines, I assume you're having the same problems. At first it was a nightmare to try and get it to work and I was just going to capitulate and buy a router. However after setting up the server running on the LAN machine and trying to forward port 2593 to it using ICS default advanced settings I had no luck. But after much searching I came across an excellent little port forwarding tool for ICS: http://www.networkactiv.com/AUTAPF.html If you install this on the machine sharing the connection you can simply add a new forward to the machine acting as server's IP using the correct port, quick and painlessly. |
