Default Shard failure

When starting my shard it is now asking.....Enter the Ultima Online Directory:>

I had a virus attack my Samurai Empire .exe file so I had to delete and download
it again. I know this has to do with uo gateway but it now says I have no client
installed. NOt sure if this is related. It looks like I have made a mess of things. Does anyone have a clue because I sure don't. If someone can help I would deeply appriciate it. Thanks!

You need to uninstall which ever version you have installed, and download the SE setup.

Then install UO, till you do this, you will have to enter the path.

Ok, question. Where would I get SE setup if it is not on the SE I just installed. I had SE on my comp in a zipped file. Would I have to get it from the CD, which I don't have.
Next question. I already have UO2D installed on my comp also. So do i have start all over with installing them.
Sorry I sound like a newb but running a shard has been more challenging then I could ever imagine. I really love it though even if I am pulling my hair out a lot.
Thanks for your input!

All I am saying is, reinstall the program, after you uninstall it.

Just do it, don't think about...

I am having this same problem with the Samurai Empire Beta. I have now uninstalled without errors, then reinstalled without errors at least four times. Each time, after reinstalling, when I try to run a RunUO server, it tells me:

Enter the Ultima Online directory:
And it asks me this every time I restart as well. Is this because I am using a Beta, or could there be another problem?

Why are you using a beta client?

Just go to www.uo.com and download the ML setup, problem solved

It is funny, I got the beta client from the link you provided on another thread. Anyway, thanks again!

The beta client, isn't a legal client to use after the beta period, you might of gotten it from that site. Because its the BETA CLIENT, but the BETA for SE was almost 2 years ago.

Your reply makes no sense. True, the beta client is not a legal client after the beta period. Yes, I did get the beta client from "that site." True, the beta for SE was alomst two years ago. Yet, this has no relevance to my comment that this very BETA client was what you linked to on another thread.

Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for your help, but I just found it funny.

This very beta client, 2 years ago?

Alright fine I did, 2 years ago, the current link isn't a beta client. I should know I installed it today.

The link I posted yesterday is NOT A BETA SETUP, I know that for a fact.

ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/demos/uose/setup.exe - SE
http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/uo/uoml_setup.exe - ML

Both are non-beta setups, I should know, I have used both to avoid having to look for my cd(s)
