i see no screen:P - RunUO

ok im new to this kind of stuff got my shard up and running loged in made a char chose wich town i wanna start in click on in the battom left corner it said welcome to britin something like that but my screen stayed the same i cant seem to see the town or anything actualy anyone got any ideas on what this is coused by and how i can fix it hehe plz help ty
FYI when i come to chose the sever says test center something like that i dont see my server name i aint public only private for now :S

ok got it working awsome now how can i change my char name to like Admin blah blah blah and get me some cool gear to prove to ppl im the admin of the shard and how do i make ppl Gm's and give them the right to do certain stuff

First of all, read the doc's that come with RunUO. Here's a few for starting out. [set can set a lot of things. [set hue 1153 will make you, your clothing, horse, shoes etc. bright white. [set name "I don't know commands" and targeting yourself will make your name I don't know commands. [add is also a good one. [add leggingsofbane, target the ground, and you've got yourself the artifact Leggings of Bane. You can use [props on someone to change that characters access level from player to Counselor, GM, Seer, or Admin. You can use [admin to make an account with an access level higher than player. When someone logs on to that account, every character will be whatever you set that accounts access level at. You can also type [help and get a list of most (if not all) of the commands.

that file have all the commands and who can use it.

do you mean buy the most recent ultima online game?

No. In your Ultima Online folder there's an exe called AutoPatch or something like that. Run that. It will download all the patches that OSI puts out. You need to stay up to date on those so your client will work correctly.

i tried doing that but it said "patch.uo.com/cgi-bin/patchmsg.pl?lang=ENU"
ive had this problem before but it fixed itself.

That's the full error it gives you? Do you have any modified files in your OSI folder? If so, that could be why.

i dont have any modified files; i just installed uo. ive looked throught the forums and have tried all the suggestions i could find but they didnt work. i have the AOS version of uo; should i download mondains legacy? or get the newest version? also i cant find the ML tool another thread wass talking about, can u give me the URL?

One time i've encoutering that problem, there just was a thing of that i'd customizing my character too long

and when i've done it quick, the trouble is gome

jf course i dont mean, that it is your thing like... dont know. Russian pirates always giving me the last version of UO, so i'm cant to help in that question...

You don't need to get another version of UO to get the patches. AoS will work fine. What's the exact error you're getting when it doesn't let you patch? Also, I don't know what you mean when you say ML tool. Are you on dial-up? I know some people with dial-up have problems getting some of OSI's larger patches.

There is a section on patching help at www.uo.com. There are a number of different reasons that patches can fail, some of them being very monumental (i.e. virus etc.)

no im on DSL and forget about the ml tool:-) the error is "cannot find 'patch.uo.com/cgi-bin/patchmsg.pl?lang=ENU'. make sure the path or Internet adress is correct." Then after i click OK it comes up with "Runtime error: program:C:\program files\Ultima online 2D\uopatch.exe. This aplication has requested Runtime to terminate it in unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

ALso i do virus scans regularly with 3 different programs so i dont think thats it. ill try to run it on a different computer and see if it works. Thx a ton 4 the help :-)
