letting friends in server

ok im running a private server right now(not public yet) but the prob is i got 5friends who will be helping me get the server set up and all but dosent seem like the server is letting them in i was told it might be my router blocking them and i need to open a port for them to get in but hey i dunno where what or how to do that stuff loll plz help me out a bit here thx

Look at the manufactor's website for your router, and read the read directions on how to foward a port, since its your router you have to do it.

If you don't know how, ask your friends to walk you through, and also be sure you know what to do after that.

ok thats good to know but is it a certain port or something ?
like a number so i dont open any port

like does it have a certain port number something like that cuz my bro knows how to open and close them but we need to know wich one it is hmmm ?
