If you can't move or delete the file then maybe replacing it again would help.

If it still doesn't work then try restarting your computer. Happens to many files too:P

dang it still dont work... i have downloaded and installed the hues.mul that you sent me and i replaced the one in my uo folder but when i go in a shard, i still see all the hued items, black. thats crazy...

i took the file in the folder where the patchs for the shard were i copied it on my desktop renamed it hue.mul first, then i moved it in my uo folder but i saw that it was no the right spelling so i tried to del it. i copied the file again from the folder of the patches and renamed it hues.mul and replaced the one in my uo folder. and then i replaced it with the hue.mul that you sent me but it still dont work...

Or maybe you are using uogateway? Because if you installed the custom hue file in uogateway and load a client from there, it uses the custom instead of the original hue file from the client folder. I think...

No he doesn't.
If he can't read the file on restart it's 99% a security issue rather than the file being in use.
He need to modify the security settings for the file to allow him to delete it because the patch most likely overrided those settings and made it either read only or removed the user from the full control access list.

P.S.
That's why you should never run a patch that come in an exe file format.
