Game Crashing Apon Login? - RunUO

I start the server and all then I go to the UoGateway and did the new local and connected to 127.0.0.1 and the default port created the char and I spawned in britian and within to second I got the We experienced and error and need to close Submit Bug Report Message and it keeps doing how do I fix this?

What crashes? The client or the server? What client are you using? 2D or 3D? What version number?
More info is needed.

Its the Client thats crashing uo version 4.0.11a patch 42

Sounds like there could be something on or around your character that's causing your client to crash. Try patching up the game and see if that helps. (current client I believe is 5.01.j)

I did it says unable to patch your char may not be the most current version you may be able to play the game click ok or cancel to abort and the ok button is greyed out

Hate to say it but your looking at a full uninstall/reinstall. Make sure to delete the UO directory after uninstalling.

Sometimes unsuccessfully patching the game leaves residual files in the patch folder. Just clear them out (uo game directory -> patch folder) so just delete them and run uopatch.exe again. If that doesn't work then you'll probably have to reinstall the game.

RunUO is never patched.
It is complete server software that does not get patched, only completely replaced.

The problem you are having is the client.
As soon as you install the client software from the disk you have to patch it before you can use it at all.

Once it is sucessfully, FULLY patched, you should not have any problems.

I've had this in the past myself when patching from OSI, loads of reasons why it might not patch but usually if the patch has not worked just check the patch folder in the UO game directory and delete all the files in there.

Then run UO (as if to play the production shards) again to try a new patch session, once it works, close that and start the free shards... I.E with razor or gateway.

Also, if you've changed any of the original game files then it won't patch and you have no choice but to reinstall.

Yeah I agree with the rest on this..Try uninstalling and reinstalling your client...Now my Brother-in-law can't patch past 4.0.11 either, BUT he has a very old pc and for some reason it won't let him patch any further than that...Though hes uninstalled and reinstalled numberous times, but as I mentioned he has a OLD pc.

Good luck fixing it..
