Default Hardware Question

Planning a beta testing period for this super customized shard. I found a computer at a thrift store:

Pentium 850 mhz
256 MB RAM
15G Hard-Drive
48x CD drive
Windows XP
$125 (might be able to haggle down a bit)

Will this support a runuo server with like max 10 people on at a time?

There really isn't a way to tell.

As Phantom eluded to, there's no real way to tell unless you try it. While it's entirely possible it will support 10 people online at one time, there's no guarantee it's going to be pretty. The amount of memory in that system is going to be one limiting factor right from the get go. If you were to purchase it, you may want to look at upgrading to at least 512MB (or higher) before setting up a server. 256MB might support RunUO, but you may have to go with a very minimally spawned shard... items and mobiles can really eat up memory pretty fast. But once again, the only way to tell for absolute sure is to try it... tho if it were me, I'd be wary.

As has been mentioned, unless you're going to keep the item and mobile count on the shard fairly low, you're going to want more memory. The processor should be able to handle the amount of players you're planning on having online, but you're absolutely going to have to keep the PlayerRangeSensitive option for the AI enabled.
