Default corrupt staidx0.mul

Using modified statics files, if the staidx0.mul file is corrupt, can it be rebuilt from statics0.mul? Or will it be necessary to re-freeze felucca/trammel to get it back?

No, statics0.mul is fine. Only staidx0.rar is corrupt.

If you don't have a complete staidx0.mul file then you have an issue.

Wondering how your archive can be corrupt, that shouldn't happen.

staidx0.rar and statics0.rar were in different archives. One is corrupt; the other is not. My question is whether staidx0 can be rebuilt from statics0. I know the actual data is in statics0 while staidx0 is an index file resorting that data.

You can try to rebuild it, I suppose, but I think your out of luck.

I don't know of any utility that will rebuild a static index file from the statics. If you could do that there probably would be no need for the index file.

Well the reason index files exist is so data can be accessed in a different order than it is stored in the data file. It can certainly be rebuilt, but only if the format of the data for both files is known (information I lack). I was hoping someone knew of such a utility already or knew enough of the data format to advise how to do a rebuild.

Thanks for trying to help though, guys. I'm actually trying to help a friend whose only copy apparently of staidx0.mul is corrupt.

you might want to check with someone that downloaded the patch BEFORE it got corrupted, and get a copy from them and rename it back from their UOG directory
