Hey there.
I have been ripping my hair out with trying to allow people to connect to my shard. I have forwarded port 2593 for Runuo To mt local IP for the server running it. Note that I can connect Locally (I.E: with my LAN computers behind the router, the problem is WAN connections) I Have created a "no-ip" account and have that pointing to my Internet IP. I am using Mr.Fixits Serverlist.cs WHich is pointed to the DNS name (I have tried it with my IP and with its Autodetect funtion ON, no difference) My problem seems to lie with the client not reaching the port for some reason. I have forwarded it according to my routers specifications (Othe rsoftware seem to work while forwarded this way) Problem is.. No matter what I do, I cannot get this to work. My Router is a Lynksys DI-604 I am running Windows XP Runuo 1.0 Mr Fixit's Serverlist.cs Thank you. |

I got rid of my Di604 for this very same reason. You have 3 option... upgrade your firmware and pray....Enable DMZ on the Server IP.... or get a different router... I spent the better part of 3 days trying to get around this but for some reason the di series routers don't like UO LOL... I hope someone can help you out and save you the troubles but I gave up and got a new router when it happened to me. Also Just to make sure I am not on the wrong page.... You said LinkSys DI-604.... Did you mean D-Link DI-604???? Cause mine was the D-Link and I didn't think LinkSys had a 604

Yes I meant D-Link. Haha I do not know where I got LinkSys from..
See I can play on UO shards no problems.... Damn.. I do not know.. I cannot afford to buy a whole new router.. There must be a way to do it without making it DMZ.. I hope someone on this forum has had this problem and found a way to fix it. I am losing hope here ![]() |

AFAIK, the point of the DMZ is so that it bypasses the firewall completely. Hence, when you activate the DMZ port, everything goes... there is no security on it.
While I haven't worked with the DI-604, I have used a DI-524 which is similar. About the only thing I suggest is to set up a "Virtual Server". IIRC, it handles opening the appropriate port in the firewall when you add a virtual server entry so you shouldn't have to jump around to different settings tabs just to figure it out. Just give the entry a name ("RunUO" maybe?), add your private IP (the internal network IP of your RunUO server... 192.168.0.50 for instance), and then enter the port number (default is 2593) for both public and private. Set it to "enabled" and scheduled as "always" and then save that entry. I hope that helps. |

Ok. Onthe DI-604,
I have set it as port 2593 TCP and they can connect now. So for all of you out there with a D-Link Make ONLY a virtual server entry: If there is a recurring entry in the firewall or in special applications, the port will not be able to be reached. So Only make a Virtual server entry. Name: "Runuo" Private IP: "192.168.0.xxx" (Where xxx is the digits representing the server-computer) Protocol type: "TCP" Private Port: "2593" (Or the port for RUnuo) Public port: As above Schedule: "Always" (Or create a schedule if your shard is only "open" for a certain time of the day) I hope this will help any who have had problems with D-Link ROunters. Thanks go to WeEzL |
