how do i make stuff spawn in barrels and chests?

Depending on your version of Run UO, (1.0 or 2.0) this link below will give a download of MegaSpawner 2.0. This program is so easy to use and it allows you to spawn items within items. Especially if you dont script this program is so easy to use and manage. I use it on both my shards, 1.0 and 2.0 I love it.

Mega Spawner v3.68 for 2.0 RC1

i downloaded that but cant find an EXE file in it to run the program, is it something thats started in game?

Yes you add it to your custom scripts folder within your scripts folder. Then when your ingame after starting your server, you type [add megaspawner, and go from there. You can also just type [add mega and manually add a spawner to a location. Then you double click it and follow the gump menu that appears. Hope this helped.
